General Pressure Calibrators
General pressure calibrators combine a pressure reference with a means of generating pressure, so that a gauge, switch or transmitter can be checked without removing it to a laboratory.
Additel, Druck, Fluke, Fluke Calibration, Crystal Engineering, Martel and Ametek Jofra cover this range. The first decision is how pressure is generated. Hand pumps suit pneumatic ranges up to a few hundred bar, hydraulic pumps are needed above that, and units with an internal electric pump remove the physical work at the cost of size and battery life. The second is whether you need a documenting calibrator that stores as-found and as-left readings against a procedure, which is what turns a measurement into a closed-out work order. Accuracy is normally quoted as a percentage of full scale or of reading, and the difference matters at the low end of the span. Send us the ranges you check most often and whether you need documenting capability.
